What the system is
The LabWorks RubberGutter System™ is a specialised waterproofing solution for commercial and industrial box gutters. Rather than replacing the gutter or patching individual failures, an EPDM waterproofing layer is installed inside a suitable existing gutter channel after the failed waterproofing and corrosion have been addressed.
Why rubber lining works where patches fail
- Flexible EPDM component: the waterproofing layer is detailed around the gutter profile and critical junctions.
- Complete detailing: seams, outlets, flashing and terminations are included in the installation process.
- Handles complex shapes: corners, curves, outlets, timber details and difficult joins can be lined - the areas patch repairs struggle with most.
- No protective topcoat needed: the installed rubber system does not require a separate protective layer.
- Prepared substrate: affected metal is cleaned, dried and rust-arrested before the new waterproofing layer is installed.
Minimal disruption to your building
Because the system works inside the existing gutter, it can avoid full roof replacement and minimise disruption below. Roof sheets are lifted and refixed on most jobs. Where asbestos or fibre-cement is present, site conditions determine the exact method and precautions.
What the process looks like

- Failed waterproofing is stripped, and the original gutter is cleaned, dried and rust-arrested where required.
- The EPDM waterproofing layer, seams, outlets, flashing and terminations are installed.
- The work is photographed and certified. A typical installation takes three days on site.
